About the event
DESCRIPTION:
Technology can be used in many positive ways such as assisting with co-parenting, addressing concerns about certain forms of substance abuse, and adding a sense of security to victims of domestic violence. Unfortunately, it can also be manipulated to spy on and harass people, to create fake “evidence”, or taken out of context to attempt to impact the outcome of a pending evaluation or litigation. This program will identify platforms that are out there, both he good and the bad, so that attendees can be aware of them when evaluating information presented to them in connection with evaluations or litigation as well as how to incorporate some of the “good” platforms into their recommendations for parenting plans and co-parenting techniques. We will also hear from a cybersecurity expert who will provide some tips on how to prevent online stalking and harassment.
UPON COMPLETION, ATTENDEES WILL BE ABLE TO:
- Attendees will have a better understanding of ways in which data can be manipulated to create a false narrative in connection with forensic evaluations and litigation.
- Attendees will be able to better identify platforms and programs that can be implemented to assist with co-parenting and parenting time issues.
- Attendees will be able to better identify the ways technology can bolster the forensic evaluation dataset, while also gaining awareness of the ethical quandaries involved in using these sources of information.
